This was almost the first institutional recognition that we got after two years of continously running the gallery.
The exhibition was about giving publicity to projects, groups and communities where the members are artist and curators at once and who were working more or less underground- in a sense of beeing outside of the offical art institutional frame.
During the Budapest Box exhibtion we lost our exhibition space -the shop-window- because the GJSZ Ltd. Gasrepairing service wanted to sell their shop over more then half a year and finally they succeded and now it belongs now to an internetcafe and an event organising agency. At first we tried to find a common solution with the new owner to keep the window, but we shared not the same type of thinking about common good activities. So at the end we stopped the show-window gallery project on 5th of August 2002. Since that day the shop-window is empty although the new owner affirmed us that he will need for his own company. We thank all of the show-windows' exhibiters, friends, sponsors for their paticipation, intersted and help and advice everyone if he has a chance to get a shop-window to use it.
A Kirakat Galéria meghívást kapott a 2002.06.04-től 09.29-ig tartó, Budapest Box című kiállitásra.
Ez volt az első hivatalos elismerése a Kirakat Galéria két éve folytatott tevékenységének.
A kiállításon olyan csoportok és kiállítok vettek részet, akik a hivatalos művészeti intézményrendszeren kivűl dolgoznak, ill. tevékenységük részeként más alkotóknak kívánnak lehetőségeket teremteni a bemutatakozásra, stb.
A kiállítás megnyitásával egyidőben, elveszítettük a kiállítóhelységünket - a GJSZ Kft. (tulajdonos) féléve a bolthelységét a kirakattal együtt árulta - a Kirakat eladásra került. Hogy a kirakatot a továbbiakban is működtethessük, megpróbáltunk az új tulajdonossal megegyezésre jutni, de egyértelműen különböző (kultúra és pénzbeli) hozzáállásunk miatt, nem sikerült megállapodnunk. Így 2002. augusztus 5-től a Kirakat Galéria kiállítóhelység nélkül maradt.
A cég tulajdonosa igényt tartott a kirakatra mint reklámohordozóra, ám a kirakat, máig is üresen áll.
