Old Buildings in the Way of the New Metro |

Tibor M. Németh, DBR-Metró Kft.'s chief structural
construction engineer says that an open tender was announced for
analyzing the condition of the buildings situated along metro
4's planned route. Since underground construction can cause buildings
to sink, the winner of the bid will have to find out by the end
of the year which buildings are particularly sensitive. |
| Special
care will have to be taken underneath these buildings and a special
construction method will be needed. The study is also needed
in order to be able to clarify later disputes. If the construction
damages buildings, the company will, of course, pay compensation.
